Getting 100 Sales In One Week!

How many of you would love to experience a product going viral? It’s a lofty goal, for sure. For one of my clients, she’s experienced her own version of a viral explosion. Amy Wagner, the owner of LakesideDesigns1 has sold 101 of her amazing tumblers in one week!  She contacted me for a product description revision when she noticed her views were going up and the sales were starting to come in for her monogrammed tumblers.  Writing product descriptions is what I live and breath for so I was ecstatic for the opportunity to work with her on this project. We’ve been chatting on Facebook and through email all week and it’s been absolutely amazing watching her thrive. I asked her if she would mind being shared on my website and social media channels because I really think it’s important to celebrate the successes of our friends, business associates, and customers. When asked about her business, she was kind enough to share the following mini-interview.

2. How many have you sold in what time period?

I have sold 101 as of last night, that is a period of one week.

3. Who is your target audience?

My target audience is woman in their mid twenties to late thirties. She loves details, likes to be trendy, loves to be sentimental, loves monograms, loves to spend time with friends and family, loves to celebrate and give favors. Most importantly she loves to drink wine with her girlfriends!

4. How long have you been in business?

I have been a stay at home mom for 4.5 years. During that time I had tried a few different hobbies but did not find success in them. My current business is Lakeside Designs, which also started out as a hobby. I bought some equipment to make items with adhesive and heat applied vinyl. Once I started posting pictures of some of my creations on facebook, my facebook friends went crazy and the requests immediately poured in for custom items. I started selling on just facebook and word of mouth within months. I live by a chain of lakes and I asked a customer to meet me for pickup by the lake, my first official sale was lakeside and thats how Lakeside Designs was born. My good friend Hayley Frome, owner of CITRALILY, who is also a friend and customer to The Write Assistant, recommended that I open a shop on Etsy. With her help I took the plunge in February of 2016. I joined Flourish, a resourceful tool for the handmade community, in April of 2016. Since joining Flourish I have learned the pillars of having a successful handmade business. I have also hired the Write Assistant on several occasions and it has proven to be an invaluable investment for my business.

5. What would you like people to know about your business?

I somewhat answered this question in the last one, but I specialize in making beautiful vinyl gifts for beautiful memories. I am always looking for new products that are going to be the hot new trend. These personalized wine tumblers are selling like wildfire. They are new to the market and the manufacturer is currently sold out, the demand for them has be astronomical. I am still accepting orders for them as we will have our next shipment sometime next month.

If you checked out my shop, you may notice the majority of my products are nautical or ocean related. I grew up by the beach and have a love for all things nautical. I am truly passionate about providing quality gifts and favors to my customers.
