Grand Opening

Welcome to The Write Assistant blog! It is my great pleasure to have finally launched this platform, and I hope you enjoy reading these subsequent posts as much as I’ll enjoy writing them.

I thought the best introduction post would be a back to basics introduction to what copy is exactly and what a copywriter does. The definition of copy is as follows:

Written content primarily used for the purpose of advertising or marketing.

While it sounds simple, this definition encompasses a wide variety of written communications. You have soft copy, which refers to anything electronic, and hard copy which refers to items like brochures and pamphlets, plus a whole range of copywriting styles and techniques. We will get into these later in this blog, but for now, all I want you to know is that copy refers to words that sell.

Now the definition of copywriting is as follows:

The action of writing content conveyed through online media and print materials for the primary purpose of advertising or marketing.

So there you have it: The definitions of copy and copywriting. They are surprisingly simple, aren’t they? I write copy, therefore, I am a copywriter. My goal is to help individuals share their stories in a way that entices their target audience to connect with them and ultimately purchase their goods. I want to help you share your story.

I look forward to getting to know my clients, and now readers, in a whole new way with the advent of this website. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with requests for topics, questions you want to be answered, or comments for improvement.
